/My friends/
Players I have fewer than 10 battles with are excluded.
Ryota95 |
49-17 (A+) |
Also called 9, this is probably the person I have played against the most in MKDS. While not quite a consistent player
you never know what to expect racing against him. His level is impressive
and he's always available to play whenever you want a real opponent.
☆☆☆ |
Folk |
5-15* (S) |
Folk only recently come back, but he has become a very active member of the community.
At his best he rivals even the fastest in the world, with his unusual strategies and
playful demeanor. He is a joy to play against.
☆☆☆ |
SenDai |
3-17* (A) |
This player is also called Chiyo. He is my rival. He is known for being extremely fast
driving exclusively with the tank kart just like me. He is also quite good at using
items. He attends the Japan exchange battle every month but is a little difficult to get into a match with.
Quantum |
3-35 (S) |
The fastest player in the U.S. Racing Quantum is a true test of your driving ability.
By no means an easy opponent, even his ""bad run"" is likely 5 seconds better than your PR.
I've played dozens of races against him in the past and I am only able to win when he's being too playful.
☆☆☆ |
Abel M |
1-25* (S+) |
The best that there is to race outside of Japan, Abel is tremendously fast.
He is a popular streamer and so I'd often play against him during his livestream.
(To show off my luck with items and interfere with his run lol)
あべらないラングレー |
20-9* (B+) |
This is a mystery troll player from Japan. His characteristic is that he played almost all day every day.
He is known for disconnections, picking Yoshi Falls, and using bad karts. In total I think we've
played over 100 races. He inspired my current degenerate playstyle against new players.
☆☆☆ |
Falconator |
15-0 (B-) |
This is one of the members of my old Wi-Fi Club group. A newcomer during 2023, although not very skilled
he was a very active person in the scene back when it was less active.
たべい・1 /NE |
1-12 (S+) |
During late 2023 I had the opportunity to play with the legendary TB1.
Our battle score represents his continued high level even after 10 years of retirement.
Showing his skill level to still be in contention for the best in the world with no practice.
He's also one of my favourite video makers.
☆☆☆ |
あめゆき |
1-19 (S) |
Also called Ameyuki, this player is a consistent threat among the legacy top players.
Notably he is very strong during 4-player races. It's rare for me to win against him.
☆☆☆ |
ふじモン |
3-25* (S) |
This player is great at Wi-Fi and also one of the best emblem artists.
Seemingly always appearing at the monthly exchange battle, he is quite a difficult opponent.
Also, during 2022 and 2023, you would frequently find him on worldwide search.
☆☆☆ |
カイル |
3-20* (A+) |
America's second finest, Kyle is a dangerously consistent racer who plays at a great level.
Starting since a very young age and always working hard to get better. His dedication
extends to studying both fluent Japanese and MKDS history, which I often speak to him about.
J |
0-14* (GOD) |
The current world champion at Wi-Fi, and the holder of many 100cc world records.
J plays almost perfectly at his best, reflecting a top level not seen since 2013/2014.
I have yet to win a GP against him.
☆☆☆ |
ぐぺ |
4-19* (A+) |
Known for his sense of humour, Gupe is also a very challenging opponent.
With a respectable Wi-Fi level and decent activity. If you encounter a player with
an innapropriate Japanese name... It is probably just him. lol
Boreas has recently reached 10 battles. I'll add an entry eventually for it.

Chapter 1:
A generally unknown part of MKDS involves the obscure Korean community.
This was the primary hub of the Korean MKDS community. Housing a handful of players between around 2009-2012.
Most notably there are videos of the runs of Usedmap and another very good unknown player called 누구니.
As far as I know they aren't contactable (and were very likely children during these years).
I was not able to find any affiliated profiles. I hope one day I can learn more.
Chapter 2:
MKDS has 4 accessible region codes in each different regional variant of the game.
But by using cheats, several more are accessible. And they don't seem
to be documented anywhere, so here it is. Region modification changes the frame colour of your name on Wi-Fi.

Chapter 3:
List of people who have achieved a certain amount of match wins since 2014.
I compared matching pictures and gathered statistics over time to estimate who has a lot of wins in MKDS. Multiple ROMs are not included.
Since it's harder to calculate the win rate of people using a save data from before May 2014, they're not included here unless a picture of it from 2014 still exists.
1000 Wins
カイル, Folk, あべらないラングレー, Beta, Abel P., Dylan, SP-KINGU, Chwarles
2000 Wins
Gabe, Ryota95, ねこなめくじ, Quantum
3000 Wins
ふじモン, と
